Know Your Number

What a buyer would pay for your MSP, and how to move that number.

A Private Room for Managed Service Provider (MSP) owners, and a regular call with me. We work through it on the calls: Sales & Marketing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Financial Readiness.

Ten years pricing businesses from the buyer's side.

Three things that move your number.

Public tools you can use today. On the calls I show how to use them in your MSP.

Grow sales and improve margins.

Use the pricing guide to compare how you charge and what your packages include. On the calls we walk through offers, sales process and pricing decisions against the business you want to build.

From the pricing guide

Per user
Each person and their devices. Simple to sell; heavy users can cost more to support.
Tiered packages
Defined service scope on top of per-user or per-device pricing. The boundaries affect which package clients choose.

Put AI to work.

Start with the policy worksheet and vendor scorecard. You choose a use case, set the rules and test a tool. On the calls we look at how that work can become a useful service for your clients.

From the worksheet and scorecard

Policy decisions
Who owns AI decisions? Which tools are in use? Which data must stay out of public tools?
Vendor gate
Check exit terms in writing: notice, export format, offboarding cost and data deletion. A failed gate stops the evaluation before scoring.

Build business value.

The quiz gives you a starting range. On the calls we work through what your books, recurring revenue, client concentration and owner dependence do to that range.

What the quiz returns

Your profile today
An indicative dollar range based on your answers and verified MSP transaction multiples.
A prepared profile
A second range and three first moves. It prices a profile; the calls show you how a buyer reads the rest.

What we cover on the calls.

Each call takes one topic that moves what a buyer would pay, from the sales pipeline to the profit and loss (P&L).

  • Sales and marketing past referrals

On the calls we walk through building a pipeline that does not depend on referrals: positioning, outbound and the offers that bring in new clients.

  • Pricing and packaging

How MSPs charge, what goes in each package and where margin leaks. We walk through it with the pricing guide as the starting point.

  • Putting AI to work

AI inside the MSP and sold to clients. On the calls we walk through the policy, the vendor checks and the services owners build on it.

  • Your number

What a buyer would pay for an MSP like yours, and why. We walk through the multiples, the ranges and what moves them.

  • The P&L the way a buyer reads it

Add-backs, recurring share, client concentration and owner dependence. On the calls we walk through how a buyer's team re-cuts the numbers before an offer.

  • Website, search and AI visibility

Your website, your search presence and how AI assistants describe you, seen through a buyer's diligence eyes. We walk through what they check and why it matters.

  • Financial readiness and the exit plan

What a buyer's diligence asks for, and how to sequence the work from today's number to the one you want. We walk through it step by step.

  • Live reviews

Bring your question or example to the call. Members' own numbers come up where they choose to share them.

Alexej Pikovsky

I have sat on both sides of the table.

For ten years my job was pricing businesses from the buyer's side: investment banking, a family office and private equity. That meant $7bn+ of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and financing transactions, a $300m+ exit of a private-equity-backed business where I sat on the board, and 400+ businesses evaluated as an investor and acquirer.

Then the operating side: I raised $4m+, acquired a consumer brand and grew it 8x in three years, and founded NUOPTIMA, a growth agency with MSPs as its focus.

Today I am fractional Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Cortavo, a national MSP in the United States, and I host Play It Smart, where MSP owners talk about how they actually grow. That is the lens the calls use.

Questions owners ask.

Who is the room for?

MSP owners, typically $2M to $10M in annual revenue, who want a clearer view of what their business is worth. You do not need to be planning a sale.

What happens on the calls?

Is there a fee?

There is no fee. The room and the calls are open to owners whose applications are accepted.

Will a competitor be in the room?

Possibly. It is a room of owners, not an exclusivity service, so owners from the same market may be members.

Are the tools only for members?

No. The pricing guide, AI policy worksheet, vendor scorecard and quiz are public resources you can use now. The calls show how to use them in your MSP.
